Email Etiquette

  1. Don’t CC/ to the entire list, especially if larger, ie a business group, club, membership group etc. Spam all and not confidential especially members.
  2. If you receive an email, as a group, don’t “reply all” unless all really need to see.
  3. Don’t email when angry (and on personal level too in bad form to break of relationship via email, and text on post it!)
  4. Don’t reprimand staff via email
  5. Think first before you send, and certainly re-read before sending so you it makes sense.
  6. Emails are legal documents, so if important, keep a copy, or print a copy to keep.
